If you are a nurse with non-English nursing education(University), you need to demonstrate your English proficiency to work as a Registered Nurse in the US.
At the Maryland Board of Nursing(MBON), every foreign-educated nurse who wishes to work as an RN in Maryland is asked to provide English Language Proficiency. The required English Test and the minimum scores are as follows;
TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

How to demonstrate the English Score

- MBON is currently receiving the English scores of foreign nurses by e-mail.
- CES Professional Report must have been issued.
- Send an email attachment of 1) the CES Professional Report, and 2) an Official English Exam Test Report to mdbon.nets@maryland.gov and/or mbon.educationprograms@maryland.gov.
However, if you graduated from a university accredited by the Maryland Board of Nursing, you are exempt from the English Proficiency Exam upon presenting your diploma, transcripts, etc.
